2026 Welcome ~ Year A

One Parish, Two Churches 2026

Welcome to St Luke’s Blackburn South & St Timothy’s Forest Hill!                         He_is_Risen.jpeg

               Jesus Christ is Risen! Alleluia!

We warmly welcome you to this blessed Easter Celebration of Hope at St Luke’s and St Timothy’s.

In the midst of uncertainty, confusion, alienation, and chaos, we are assured that through the Risen Christ, HOPE is alive—and we are never alone. His triumph over death is our promise of new life, renewed purpose, and true community. Whether you are a regular, new, or returning, you are most welcome here.

Easter is the moment when the light of Christ pierces the darkness of conflict and meaninglessness. As Archbishop Peter Comensoli beautifully reflects “The resurrection unfolds like morning light. It does not blind, but illumines. It does not erase wounds, but transfigures them. Christ, the Light of the World, comes to meet us as the light we need. Christ is present; Christ is life.” Let this Easter stir in our hearts to hope and rediscover the wonder of Christ’s light as well as to carry that light to others.

Here, there is something for everyone— seekers of truth, those longing to go deeper in faith, or simply looking to connect. Feed your curiosity. Encounter God and one another through our regular worship, over a cuppa, Bible study groups, faith formation sessions. There are opportunities for connection and many ways to serve through ministries and outreaches.

Together, let us experience the life-giving power of the Risen Christ in a safe and welcoming space— for growth, healing, restoration, renewal and encounter God’s love.

Join us as we walk in the light of the Resurrection, building a community rooted in faith, hope, love, and

belonging. Step into the joy of Easter—the joy of the Risen Christ.

Come and see. Come and belong. Come and rise.

“I am the resurrection and the life. Whoever believes in me, though he die, yet shall he live, and everyone who lives and believes in me shall never die”-  John 11:25-26

The Jubilee Prayer 2025

Father in heaven, may the faith you have given us in your son, Jesus Christ, our brother, and the flame of charity enkindled in our hearts by the Holy Spirit, reawaken in us the blessed hope for the coming of your Kingdom.

May your grace transform us into tireless cultivators of the seeds of the Gospel. May those seeds transform from within both humanity and the whole cosmos in the sure expectation of a new heaven and a new earth, when, with the powers of Evil vanquished, your glory will shine eternally.

May the grace of the Jubilee reawaken in us, Pilgrims of Hope, a yearning for the treasures of heaven. May that same grace spread the joy and peace of our Redeemer throughout the earth. To you our God, eternally blessed, be glory and praise for ever.

Amen.

Journeying together in daily life ...

November 2025

What are the Pope's Intentions for the Month of November?

For the prevention of suicide:

Let us pray that those who are struggling with suicidal thoughts might find the support, care and love they need in their community, and be open to the beauty of life.

So we continueJourneying Together In Daily Life - From Structures To Relationships - From Delegation To Involvement’. It is therefore necessary to reawaken in every local reality the awareness that we are the people of God, responsible for incarnating the Gospel in our different contexts and in all daily situations. This involves stepping outside the logic of delegation, which so greatly conditions pastoral action.

Saint Timothy's Catholic Parish acknowledges the Wurundjeri People as the traditional owners of this land.

We also acknowledge the continued deep spiritual attachment and relationship of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Peoples to this country and commit ourselves to the ongoing journey of Reconciliation.
